In honor of the long weekend will be shutting down a little early.

And here's what we'll all be getting up to this weekend:

One of us is earning her campfire badge, roughing it deep in the woods of Maine...

Someone else can be spotted on the Charles practicing his paddling boarding- harnessing his inner Summer Olympian...

One of us will be donning her "golfing costume" and man-handeling a golf cart to the best of her abilities...

Others will be getting there tan on at either a beach or an uncle's bbq...

There will be a chance of a girl fight going down on the Cape this weekend? As long as she's wearing Lily, she's fine.

Me? I will be at Fenway Park behind home plate with Kevin, a dog and the only time I have one beer- Real man style...

For months we've been wishing for summer to roll around. And we finally got our wish along with a painfully frizzy reminder: With warm weather comes humidity.

It was about three years ago when Brazillian Blowouts and Keratin treatments reared their ugly (and toxic) heads. Hopefully everyone is giving up the chemicals now and embracing their natural texture. Sometimes it's easier said than done. But we just noticed some new inspiration for that mission- Nicole Richie is featured in this month's Glamour looking as good as ever and showing us all how to rock some natural waves.

Back away from the round brush... Put the flat iron away... Say hello to texture.

Tips to Tame that Lion's Mane-

Product- Two words "Anti." "Humectant." Summer time products are much different than winter time products. The goal is to seal your hair so no more moisture can get in. Our fave is Tsai Creme.

Heat- Just because you're letting hair air-dry to a wavy, or curly state doesn't mean you can't still looks polished. If your hair is looking a little too wild and crazy when it's dry, grab a curling iron and focusing only though the crown and the bits around the face, start wrapping 1" sections around it. The heat from the iron will help smooth the frizzies, but since you're not messing with the underneath you'll still maintain volume.

Layers- When you are embracing your natural texture it's good to reassess how you're looking throughout the day and add more product if you need it. A great one for adding texture is Liquid Fabric. A couple sprays in the morning... maybe a few more in the afternoon... one the next day- Whatever you need.

Go ahead, let your inner lion roar.

What About Bob?

The bob haircut has has been synonimous with fashion since Vidal Sassoon introduced it. It has long been the signature cut for Anna Wintour, and Rose Byrne rocked it at this years Screen Actors Guild. So it came as know surprise when Chanel sent models down the runway this year not only in bob cut wigs.

The keiser himself put his spin on it by adding pastel hues and Marie Antoinette bows. Genius, pure genius.

The 90's are back! If you were one of them many who mobbed the Hatch Shell this weekend to catch a glimpse of Third Eye Blind, Eve 6, Spin Doctors, and Switchfoot and take a little stroll down memory lane, we salute you. We heard that Earthfest was particularly packed this year.

It seems we are in the midst of a 90's revival with bands like Eve 6 and The Cranberries making their comebacks - along with flannel shirts and daisy-print dresses. Being a child of the nineties, I couldn't be more into it!

Taco Time

To live in New England is to know this is where Mexican Food comes to die.

Before I moved here, I would have gladly said Mexican food was my favorite type of food. I've been here for two years now and I have tried every single "Mexican Restaurant"- I no longer call it my favorite.

In my search I've been food-poisoned, I've been force-fed wasabi guacamole (gross), and I've even been shocked by an $85 tab for a lunch that involved not a single drop of alcohol.

However, there are a few new contenders in town. Bring it on!

The chain restaurant, Rosa Mexicano, has moved into the Seaport and just opened its doors. I've been to the New York location and I did like it. Jeffrey is a big fan- already been there twice in one week- but he has warned against the Taco and Tequila flights.... Sounds dangerous.

For something a little more nitty- gritty (like I like) there is a new food truck parked around the streets of Cambridge- The Taco Truck.

This is a far cry from the taco trucks I am used to. It's pretty fancy. I haven't had a chance to get over to it yet, but I am excited that they embrace sustainability, and from what I've heard they don't over-complicate things. As an added bonus they utilize social media to the fullest so you always know where to find them. Tweet on, Taco Truck!

Hopefully this will infuse Boston with some quality examples of what's south of the border- and force some other restaurants to take notice. If you can't get a tortilla right... Or if you are dropping wasabi into your guacmole... Or if mild is mentioned on the menu- I'm not interested.

The Bleached. The Bushy. The Bedazzled.

Just when we though we had it all figured out, brow trends this year have thrown us a curve ball. It all started with the bleached out brow popping up all over runways and print ads.

Then the pendulum swung to the overly-bushy, bold, dark brow a'la a young Brooke Shields.

But, wait... there's more- Chanel just sent their models down the catwalk wearing bedazzled brows. What?

I have turned to our resident bedazzler, Heather, to make a pair of these for our fashion forward redhead, Gail, to wear for a day. Heather has run in to a small hiccup in the execution of the product: How do we stick them on Gails brows without ripping out all her little hairs when we are done with them?

Hmmm... Maybe Gail can be the trendsetter for the no-brow look when we are done.

We were all saddened to hear the news that Beastie Boys co-founder Adam Yauch lost his battle with cancer a couple of weeks ago. The vital 1/3 of one of the most influential hip hop groups in history will be sorely missed in the music world.

The Beastie Boys managed to break down the barriors of hip hop and emerged as a multi-platinum selling rap group who were also recently inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. Their influence can be heard to this day in some of my favorite bands.

Kasabian is one band who has definitely jumped on the Ill Communication train, especially with their track "Days Are Forgotten" off of the album Velociraptor!. Take a listen to these Brit rockers and see if you can catch the similarities:

Glamour Girl

I have passed this cover around to so many clients lately, I feel like LC and I have been become besties.

I mean the photos scream SUMMER! The perfectly placed balayaged blonde ieces in the front. The easy breezy waves, ( can't you just hear the friggin ocean), the carefree signature Adele bump in the back.

What blonde out there isn't inspired by this look? Here is my interpretation on how you can achieve this look yourself.

Tools you will need

Hot Rollers

Brush

Hairspray

Bobby Pins

How To Achieve The Look

* Start with clean hair and wrap hot rollers in vertical sections, (allow to cool before removing 10 mins.)

* After removing rollers run your fingers thru your hair to break up the curl.

* Take horizontal section at the crown and begin teasing the base using th brush, work your way back about three scetions.

* Start smoothing out the sections using your brush.

* After smoothing secure the top with a pin, then loosely begin to pull sections in front of the crown area into the back (behind the teased section) and secure with pins.

* Be sure not to be perfect and let the bang area as well as the sides fall down.

Remember if all else fails, The as seeen on TV section at CVS does sells the bumpit.

One of my top favorite bands has got to be Depeche Mode. They're electronic, they're 80's, and yet their songs will never go out of style.

So take their classic hit "Enjoy the Silence," add in some hi-fashion, gorgeous models, and a romp through Versailles...and you've got yourself a video I can't tear my eyes away from.

Dior released this video, entitled "Secret Garden," just last week, and it's all I need to get me through until they release their next album:

I don't know about you, but I'm just about ready to toss my gnarly winter-stained boots to the back of the closet and make room for some spring shoes now that the warm weather has hit. it's time to show a little leg, and that means it's time to dust off your favorite pair of insensible heels and start struttin' it.

My favorite spring shoe trends? You'll be sure to spot me in a pair of each of these at some point in S/S 2012:

Ghost Heels

From left: United Nude, Christian Louboutin, Jeffrey Campbell Leave it to Alexander McQueen to make walking on your tippy-toes trendy. The guys at United Nude are masterminds of shoe construction, and make the look seem almost as effortless as a walk in the park. And for those of us on more of a shoestring budget, there are the Jeffrey Campbell versions, sure to turn heads as you stumble stroll down the street.

Curves Ahead

From left: Miu Miu, *Sole Boutique, Walter SteigerSince Miu Miu's shoe that launched a thousand blog posts (and countless credit card transactions), every footwear designer seems to have added a curved-heel piece to their collections. Walter Steiger's pump elegantly mimics the arch of a woman's leg. And *Sole Boutique offers a slightly glitzier option for a night on the town.

Stalagmite Studs

From left: Christian Louboutin, Sam Edelman, Promise Christian Louboutin is credited with starting the studded heel trend (although I think 1980's punk movement may beg to differ...), and since his spiked stilettos hit the scene, copycats have soon followed. Sam Edelman added some sparkles to his spikes and sparked a huge demand with his “Lorissa” platforms. With these all-over embellished shoes from Promise, you get the more studs for your buck. I love this trend, but all I have to say is be careful if you've got a short stride - scratched up ankles is never a good look.
